The talk of a "cure" for Sourcery doesn't bode well. And it seems that rather than trying to find out what the deal is with this, the done thing now is to take Sourcerers (people able to manipulate the Source) and put them in what is basically concentration camps. Apparently, being able to use Source power is a bad thing now, because of some creatures called Voidborn? When the Source is used, these creatures show up and start wrecking things. The Red Prince will thus focus on physical damage. I've seen recommendations online that you should specialize your characters to do either physical or magical damage and avoid dealing a mix of the two. I remember having fun with that in the first game, and two-handed weapons are nice! I'm not a big fan of sword'n'boarding, so I switched it up and went with a Knight. I mean, it's not that many games that lets you play the exiled prince of an ancient lizard empire!īut after that comes the next hurdle: what class (or rather, collection of stats, skills and talents) should I pick?! I went online to look up the Origin characters default classes and saw that the Red Prince is a fighter. But which one? They are all interesting!Īfter chewing on this for far too long, I went with the Red Prince. It helped to follow online recommendations and go with one of the Origin characters. Oh my goodness! So many options! I was stuck on this screen for a long time. I repeat: I will most likely be spoiling things as I write down my thoughts and experiences!Īnd finally, while I appreciate having a discussion on the game, I would prefer not to be spoiled on things that I have yet to encounter. I will be writing unmarked spoilers, so please be aware! I will write down my thoughts more or less after each gaming session. This thread will follow the structure of my previous "Where I Play" threads. Loved it.ĭivinity: Original Sin 2 promises more of that, but with the polish that comes from experience. Rather than the real-time-with-paus gameplay that we find in Pillars of Eternity and its ancestors, this was a strict turn-based game with action points. Sure, the writing wasn't exactly solid gold, but it was good and again, it had that Pratchett-esque sense of humor going on, which did a lot.Īnd aside from the writing and the story, I found the gameplay really engaging. Here was a fantasy game with a bit of a sense of humor. I've been interested in this sequel since I found out there was going to be one! When I got my hands on the previous game, I found myself hooked hard.
